STEPS
1
BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU GRIP YOUR IPHONE. If you are covering up the reception points, you'll either block out receipt of signals or you'll lower their strength. Apple says this is true for all phones, even other brands. 2
DON\'T COVER THE LOWER RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE IPHONE 3GS WITH YOUR HAND WHEN USING THE IPHONE. 3
DON\'T COVER THE BLACK STRIP FOUND IN THE LOWER LEFT HAND CORNER OF THE IPHONE 4\'S METAL BAND WHEN USING THE PHONE. 4
BUY A BUMPER CASE. These can help improve the reception because they oblige your hand to avoid the problem areas. 5
CHECK FOR OTHER POSSIBLE PROBLEMS. Read the manual or call your Apple rep. METHOD 1 OF 1: MAKE YOUR OWN BUMPER
1
GET A RUBBER WRISTBAND THAT MANY ORGANIZATIONS GIVE AWAY FOR FREE. 2
STRETCH THE WRISTBAND AROUND THE METAL FRAME OF THE IPHONE. 3
WITH AN EXACTO-KNIFE, CUT OUT HOLES FOR THE DOCK, HEADPHONE JACK, MUTE SWITCH, ETC. You may want to mark these spots with a pen and then take the wristband off the phone before cutting it so that you do not accidentally damage the phone. TIPS
Complain to the retailer or Apple if you can't resolve the problem.
